This teacher interview is part of Sarasota County Schools’ “Making Sarasota #1 in Mathematics” grant program, funded by the Charles and Margery Barancik Foundation. In this video, Cranberry Elementary School 2nd grade teacher, Katherine Brunson, discusses how she has adopted new math strategies that are improving outcomes and making mathematics more meaningful and enjoyable for her students.

 

This interview with kindergarten teacher Yuliya Zada of Glenallen Elementary School is part of Sarasota County Schools’ Making Sarasota #1 in Mathematics, a grant program generously funded by the Charles and Margery Barancik Foundation. In this interview, Zada discusses how she has integrated the district’s new strategies for elementary school math instruction into her kindergarten classroom to help students gain a more comprehensive understanding of the role that math plays both in the classroom and in their daily lives as well.

 

“Creating More Confident Learners” is a group interview video that is part of Sarasota County Schools’ Making Sarasota #1 in Mathematics grant program, funded by the Charles and Margery Barancik Foundation. The video, which was recorded at the Maximizing Math Mentality Workshop held at Toledo Blade Elementary School on February 15, 2018, features teachers Deb Jackson, Darlene Brooks, Katie Koster and Christina Terminello discussing how changes to the school district’s approach to math instruction for elementary schools have positively impacted their students’ performance, confidence and learning outcomes.

 

“The Power of Collaboration” group interview video is part of Sarasota County Schools’ “Making Sarasota #1 in Mathematics” grant program, funded by the Charles and Margery Barancik Foundation. This video, which was recorded at the Maximizing Math Mentality Workshop held at Toledo Blade Elementary School on February 15, 2018, features teachers Deb Pappas, Johnna Poitras and Shannon Litzell discussing how the professional development opportunities afforded by the grant have impacted their teaching and helped them better address the needs of their students.
